The Blessing That Cured Queen Elizabeth

Here is an amazing true story that very few people about.

In 1939 the Shotzer Rebbe of London met face-to-face with King George VI. This was the momentous meeting that saved the life of the future Queen Elizabeth.

King George VI was deathly afraid that his 13-year-old daughter Elizabeth would die as his brother Prince John did when he was 13 years old.

The Kindertransport

In that same year, the Jewish Agency initiated the renowned Kindertransport, however, it was facing significant resistance from certain British circles.

At the time, Rabbi Joseph Herman Hertz, the Chief Rabbi of England, took a stand to support the Kindertransport. To advocate for the cause, he sought an audience with King George VI. Accompanying him was the holy tzaddik, the Shotzer Rebbe of London, Rabbi Shalom Moscowitz, ztl.

The Rebbe’s Blessing

King George VI was struck by the radiant countenance of the Shotzer Rebbe, the likes of which he had never seen before. Deeply moved, the King requested a blessing for his 13-year-old daughter, who was suffering from epileptic seizures. “Please, might the Rebbe pray that my daughter will live,” he pleaded.

The Rebbe responded with unwavering certainty: “If Your Majesty ensures the approval of the Kindertransport, thereby saving Jewish children, then measure for measure, the princess will not only live but her ailment will disappear entirely.”

The King was profoundly affected by these words. Shortly after, the Kindertransport was set into motion, saving thousands of Jewish children. Miraculously, the young princess—who would later become Queen Elizabeth II and live to the age of 96, passing away on September 8, 2022—was completely cured.
